Choi sets new KBO record with 1,356 career points, surpassing Lee Seung-yup

SSG Landers’ Choi Jung has set a new KBO record for most runs scored in a season.

Choi hit a double in the third inning against the Hanwha Eagles at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon, South Korea, and came home on a double by the next batter, Guillermo Heredia.

Choi, who had scored a run against Hanwha the previous day to match Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yeop’s record of 1,355 runs scored in his career, became the newest player to reach the milestone in a single day.메이저사이트

Choi, who hasn’t missed a year since his professional debut in 2005, became KBO history in his 19th year.

After scoring six runs in his rookie year, Choi was named to the “Top 10 Season Scorers” list eight times between 2008 and last year.

Although he never led the league in runs scored in a season, his consistency allowed him to overtake Lee Seung-yup’s record.

Choi is also challenging for the KBO’s all-time title in home runs.

With 454 home runs since his debut, Choi is just 13 short of Lee Seung-yup’s KBO record of 467.
