‘what a waste! Course Record’ Seo Yeon-jeong, “I thought 10 under par was impossible”

It was truly crazy form. Seo Yeon-jeong (28) shook up the KG Ladies Open by reducing as many as 9 strokes in one day.

Seo Yeon-jeong took the sole lead with 11 under par and 133 strokes as of 3:40 p.m. in the second round of the 12th KG Ladies Open on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour held at Sunning Point Country Club (par 72) in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 2nd. She is three strokes ahead of the top two spots.

Seo Yeon-jeong started in a tie for 23rd place with a 2-under par 70 in the first round. Following the previous day, she also started the second round 1 hour and 20 minutes late due to fog, teeing off at 9:55 a.m.

Seo Yeon-jeong, who started off with a birdie on the first hole, increased her momentum with a stepping stone birdie on the third hole. She then showed off her amazing putting skills by repeatedly making birdies in the 5th hole (par 3) and 6th hole (par 4).

Seo Yeon-jeong’s birdie streak continued. She birdied the 8th, 10th, and 11th holes. She made her first bogey of the tournament on the par-4 13th hole, but made up for it with a birdie on the 14th hole. Seo Yeon-jeong, who successfully hunted for birdies in succession on the 16th and 17th holes, challenged the course record (10 under par) set by Kim Ji-hyun (32) in 2017 and Hwang Jeong-mi (24) last year. However, she only made par on the 18th hole, putting the course record on hold.

Seo Yeon-jeong, who met with reporters after the round, said, “I knew the course record, but I thought 10 under par a day was impossible and put my mind down,” and added, “I think I had good results until the end.”

Regarding the only bogey situation, he said, “It was a difficult situation because the ball was stuck in the long grass. I said, ‘Please don’t make a mistake,’ but I made a mistake. “But I made up for it by making a birdie on the next hole,” he explained.

Although her challenge for the course record was thwarted, Seo Yeon-jeong jumped to the top of the leaderboard by reducing 9 strokes on this day alone. Seo Yeon-jeong, who said, “I was a little surprised when I hit it,” said, “In fact, it felt like everything would go in if I hit the putter.” He then added, “I think I hit with confidence and got a lot of birdies.”

Regarding the secret behind the putt that had me so excited, he said, “I think you have to let go of everything,” and “Rather than thinking that I had to put in too much, I let go of my mind, so I went out confidently.”먹튀검증

Seo Yeon-jeong is participating in the KG Ladies Open for the 9th time in a row. He replied, “I think it’s different from the fact that I participated in a lot of competitions and did well,” and “I think the condition was different, but this year was good, so I got these results.”

Seo Yeon-jeong, a 10-year professional, challenges for her first win. We need to forget about the heat of the second round for a moment and find calm. He said, “I’m not a rookie, and this is my 10th year, so I’ll do my best with a lot of skill. If I keep the fairway, I’ll have many birdie opportunities, so I’ll try to hit my driver accurately.”

The pleasant competition jinx also puts Seo Yeon-jeong’s mind at ease. The KG Ladies Open is often referred to as the ‘Cinderella gateway’ as first-time winners are often born. Starting with Ji-hyun Kim in 2017, Seul-gi Jeong (28), Seo-jin Park (24), Su-ji Kim (27), and Jeong-mi Hwang experienced their first win at the KG Ladies Open five times in a row, excluding 2020 when the tournament was not held due to COVID-19.

Seo Yeon-jeong said, “I can’t not think about that,” but she said, “It doesn’t work just by thinking about it, so I think there will be good results if I put it down a little and take it easy tomorrow.” He expressed her determination ahead of the final round, saying, “In the past, when I was frustrated at the threshold of winning, I tried to protect myself too much and did it passively,” and “This time, I want to play aggressively.”
